Question + Hypothesis

What we asked

Will a plant grow the same with ultra-pure water?

Our hypothesis

The plant will take longer to sprout, and it will grow shorter.

Results

What happened?

We grew sunflowers from tap water while SNOLAB grew them from ultra-pure water. The plants grew under the same conditions except for the type of water.

Conclusion

What we learned

Sunflowers grow a lot faster than we expected! Ultra-pure water can affect how a plant grows.

Is this what we
expected?

Yes, we thought that the SNOLAB sunflowers would grow a little bit slower. However they did grow quite tall!

How does a basketball bounce on surface compared to underground?

Which liquid cleans better than other liquids without corroding a penny?

Does deep-underground air pressure squash the air bubbles inside a soft object?

How do crystals form?

How many pumps of air would a balloon take until it is inflated underground vs. on surface?

Will a plant grow the same with ultra-pure water?

Can plants grow better above ground or underground?

Do crystals grow differently underground?

Will regular ice or UPW melt faster from frozen?

Is gravity stronger underground?
