We encourage students to ask questions, test hypotheses, and engage with the scientific method. Through this process, they reflect, imagine, discuss, and build on one another’s thinking—turning curiosity into shared discovery.
At its core, our program is designed to expose students to the scientific method, and how it promotes curiosity and deep thinking, and leads to new discoveries.
Science is propelled when we question what makes up the world around us. Students are encouraged to wonder, think, ponder and question in the pursuit of knowledge and scientific discovery!
Exploration is at the heart of scientific discovery. Our program gives students a space to follow their curiosity, test their ideas, learn through experimentation and share their discoveries along the way.
Wonderground invites students in Grades 4–8 to explore the scientific method with SNOLAB, Canada’s deep underground science laboratory. Through six flexible sessions, students learn to ask scientific questions, discover how research happens at SNOLAB, and develop and share their own experiment proposals. Selected ideas may be brought to life in SNOLAB’s underground laboratory, with an optional virtual tour available.
